This service relates to the distribution of free condoms, female condoms, dental dams and lube in order for young people to practice safer sex. This service is available within our drop-in services. Young people can request the resources as often as required following an initial training session of approximately 20 minutes – this session enables staff to informally educate young people in making choices about their body, how to use resources safely, issues relating to the law, sexually transmitted infections and emergency contraception services amongst other issues.

Chlamydia Testing

Service Six and Chlamydia Screening NHS (The Love Bug)
For 15- 24yrs olds (1 in 10 have it)
Free and Confidential (doctors won’t be told)

Young people can come to anyone of our drop ins for a test.
The test involves a urine sample which is sent away to the lab.
Results arrive within 2 weeks- they will text the young person’s phone, or email.
For positive results the young person will be asked to call a number to arrange getting medication.
It only tests for Chlamydia and the medication will only treat Chlamydia.
For a full screening young people will need to visit their local GUM Clinic.

Chlamydia may not be detected for up to 7 weeks after unprotected sex- the young person may need to come back for a second test.

On completion of a test a the young person will receive a free pair of

‘I’ve been Tested’ pants!

Pregnancy Testing

We offer free and confidential pregnancy testing for over 13s, for under 13s you must be accompanied by a responsible adult (over 18).
In order for the test to give a correct result you must be more than 7 days late for your period and cannot have had unprotected sex in the last 7 days.
Our Services are non-judgemental and we can offer support with the result.

Condoms

We offer condoms confidentially to over 12s for free, but you may need to prove your age.
We have a large range of Pasante condoms including, cooling and warming, ribbed and dotted, flavoured, extra lubricated and delay. We also offer a range of sizes and non-latex.
We also offer lubricant which can be used with condoms.

Dental Dams

We offer dental dams to males and females over 12yrs.
Our dental dams are used to prevent the spreading of STIs and come in a range of flavours.

Female Condoms

We offer the female condom to females over 12yrs.
It is particularly useful for those allergic to latex.
